ENG3U Independent Study and Final Exam
The end of the course: an independent novel study with a comparative essay and seminar, review lessons, and a two-hour final exam with an original sight story and marking guide.

A book tasting, three short check-ins, a comparative essay workshop, student-led seminars, a sight-text routine, review stations, timed practice with conferences, and a course reflection.
The culminating task (part of classroom work, suggested 15%) and a two-hour written final exam (25%, for the exam period, as Ontario requires for Grades 11 and 12 from September 2026), with rubrics and a teacher marking guide.
