Privacy policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
This policy explains what information we collect on this website and what we do with it. We collect as little as we can.
Purchases
All purchases are processed by Etsy or Gumroad. When you buy, you give your payment and contact details to them, not to this website. They share your name, email address and order details with us so we can support your order. Their own privacy policies apply to the checkout.
Contact form and newsletter
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message so we can reply. If you sign up for news about new products, we keep your email address and the date you agreed to receive emails. Any forms on this site are delivered to us by Formspree.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
Cookies and analytics
With your permission, this site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. If you click Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you view, roughly where you are (city or country), and what device and browser you use. It doesn't receive your name, email address or payment details. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and the data is only used to improve this shop.
If you click No thanks, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all. You can change your choice any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Your choice is saved in your own browser.
Our host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Grading assistant for teachers
The grading assistant never stores the rubrics, student work or results you use with it. We don't save, log or keep them, and the page uses no cookies or browser storage. They stay in your browser tab until you close or refresh it.
The assistant uses prepaid credits. To run them we keep your grading key (only as a scrambled hash), the email address you paid with, your credit balance and purchases, and for each grading only its date, the credits used, the number of tokens and whether it worked. None of this contains any text from a grading. Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles your card details; we never see your card number. You can ask us to delete your credit record through our contact page.
To grade the work, the text you paste is sent through our server to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, and Anthropic may process it outside Canada. Anthropic says it automatically deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, except when longer retention is agreed, needed to enforce its Usage Policy (content flagged as a violation may be kept for up to 2 years), or required by law (Anthropic's retention policy). Anthropic says it doesn't train its models on API data unless the customer opts in, for example by sending feedback (Anthropic's training policy). The tool sends no feedback, and we don't opt in.
Please remove student names and other identifying details before you send anything. Google Analytics never loads on the grading assistant page.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, through our contact page.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
