MPM2D Culminating Task and Final Exam
Design the Splash Pad, a four-class culminating design task that uses every strand of the course, two review classes, and a two-hour final exam with a make-up version and a full marking guide.

Everything for the end of MPM2D. In Design the Splash Pad (part of classroom work, suggested 10%), students design a splash pad on a park site plan and prove with math that it meets a brief: a gate where two paths meet (linear systems), path lengths and paving costs, water jets with set heights and landing distances (quadratics), benches outside a circular spray zone and a pad verified from its coordinates (analytic geometry), and a shade sail and an accessible ramp (trigonometry). A planning package, two conference checkpoints, a gallery walk and a teacher guide with worked values for every feature support students along the way. Two review classes cover every strand, and the final exam (15%) comes in two versions.
