Mathematics Grade 10 MPM2D

MPM2D Complete Course: Grade 10 Mathematics (Academic)

Everything you need to teach Grade 10 academic math for a full semester: seven units covering linear systems, analytic geometry, quadratic relations, expressions and equations, and trigonometry, plus a culminating design task and a final exam.

MPM2D Complete Course: Grade 10 Mathematics (Academic): sample slides and lesson plan

A complete, ready-to-teach semester of MPM2D, built on the Ontario Grade 10 Principles of Mathematics curriculum and its 2022 Addendum. Every lesson is 75 minutes. The 74 lessons, seven unit tests and the final evaluation take 88 class periods (about 110 hours), with room for summative work periods, so the course fits a standard Ontario semester.

The course covers all three strands: quadratic relations, analytic geometry and trigonometry. Students collect real data, build and test models in Desmos and GeoGebra, measure the school with homemade clinometers, follow the history of the quadratic formula from Babylon to Baghdad, and try optional Python lessons that extend Grade 9 coding. The course map links all 41 specific expectations to the lessons that teach them, and the evaluation plan follows Ontario's 2026 requirements for Grade 10: 65% classroom work (a summative task and a unit test in every unit, plus the culminating modelling task), a 20% written final exam and 15% attendance and participation.

Teaching outside Ontario?

A full Grade 10 academic math course: linear systems, analytic geometry, quadratic relations, factoring and equations, and similar, right and acute triangle trigonometry, with worked solutions for everything. It fits Grade 10 academic or pre-calculus math anywhere in Canada, and much of Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry in the US. Everything comes as editable Word and PowerPoint files, so you can replace the Ontario expectation codes with your own standards and adjust the evaluation plan to your school's rules. Prices are in Canadian dollars.

Units

  1. Lines and Linear Systems (11 lessons)
  2. Analytic Geometry (10 lessons)
  3. Quadratic Relations (11 lessons)
  4. Quadratic Expressions (10 lessons)
  5. Quadratic Equations (13 lessons)
  6. Similar and Right Triangles (11 lessons)

What you get

  • A teacher lesson plan for every lesson: curriculum expectations, learning goals and success criteria, a timed sequence, differentiation, look-fors and worked answer keys
  • Detailed slideshows (15 to 18 slides per lesson) with speaker notes on every slide: what to say, what to ask, what to look for and how long to spend, plus warm-ups, worked examples, guided practice, quick checks and answer-key slides
  • Student handouts (usually two pages) and exit tickets, with every problem worked out in the answer key
  • Editable Word and PowerPoint files, plus PDFs
  • A unit overview, the summative task with a four-level Growing Success rubric, a unit test, and teacher solutions for both
  • A full course map with the evaluation plan, and the culminating task and final exam (two versions) with solutions
  • An editable course outline for students and families, with the 2026 evaluation plan and the attendance and participation scale
  • A day-by-day schedule with every class, work period and test, plus expectation coverage
  • Five stand-alone buffer lessons for flex days and supply teachers

Built for the Ontario Grade 10 Principles of Mathematics curriculum (MPM2D, 2005, with the 2022 Addendum), and easy to adapt for any Grade 10 academic math class.
