GLC2O Unit 6: My First-Year Plan
A financial literacy review, then pulling the Career Portfolio together into the culminating My First-Year Plan presentation.

Students pull the course together. They review the key money concepts from Unit 5 with original practice questions and build a review plan for the provincial financial literacy assessment, which is completed through TVO's modules. They audit all six sections of the Career Portfolio (Profile, Goals, World of Work, Pathways, Plan and Money), revise and document their goals with evidence, write a one-page First-Year Plan summary, and plan, rehearse and give a 5 to 7 minute presentation with peer feedback and a reflection on adapting their plan. The final evaluation is 20% of the final grade: the culminating task, My First-Year Plan (15%), and the financial literacy graduation requirement (5%), following Ontario's 2026 evaluation policy (65% classroom work, 20% final evaluation, 15% attendance and participation).
Assessment of learning: My First-Year Plan (culminating task, 15% final evaluation): a portfolio and presentation pulling together the profile, goals, destination research, plan, application materials and budget. Also includes preparation for the financial literacy graduation requirement (5%).
