GLC2O Unit 4: Pathways and Destinations
The five postsecondary destinations, researching options, secondary school pathways and diploma requirements, and programs and supports, ending with a Destination Comparison.

Students learn what each of the five postsecondary destinations involves (apprenticeship, college, community living, university and the workplace) and meet five invented role models from a range of backgrounds. They test common myths, rate how well each destination fits their profile, learn a five-step research process, judge career information for credibility and compare options in a weighted matrix. They then learn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements, course codes, course types and prerequisites, map a Grade 11 and 12 pathway to a preferred destination, and plan which specialized programs (co-op, SHSM, dual credits, OYAP) and school and community supports could help. Everything goes into the Pathways section of the Career Portfolio. The summative, Destination Comparison, is worth 12% of the final grade.
Assessment of learning: Destination Comparison: research and compare two or three postsecondary options and map the secondary school pathway to your preferred one.
