MTH1W Culminating Task and Final Evaluation
Model It, a four-class culminating modelling task with two teacher conferences, two review classes covering every strand, and a 75-minute final exam with a make-up version and a full marking guide.

Everything for the end of MTH1W. In Model It (part of classroom work), students choose a question they care about, plan and collect data, build a mathematical model that uses data and at least one other strand, and report how well it fits, its limitations and its predictions. A planning package, two conference checklists, a gallery-walk feedback sheet and a full worked exemplar (the cup-stacking model) are included. Two review classes cover every strand with review packages and worked solutions, and a 75-minute course exam comes in two parallel versions, so you have a make-up ready. From September 2026, Ontario counts the EQAO Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics as the 20% written final exam for MTH1W, so use the course exam as EQAO preparation or as classroom work.
